Subject Prefixes
In Kirundi, verbs change based on who is performing the action. The subject prefix is attached to the beginning of the verb stem.
Examples
Nd-a-soma
I read (nda- = I + present)
U-ra-soma
You read (ura- = you + present)
A-ra-soma
He/She reads (ara- = he/she + present)
Tips
- •The prefix "nd-" indicates first person singular (I)
- •The prefix "u-" indicates second person singular (you)
- •The prefix "a-" indicates third person singular (he/she)
